The basics
The round
Everyone launches a coin together inside the game. It starts at a $4k in-game market cap and graduates at $69k. Most players are Degens, trying to pump it. One or two are secretly the Dev, trying to rug it.
Degens win if…
- the coin reaches $69k, or
- every Dev gets voted out.
Devs win if…
- they pull the rug,
- they drain enough Degens that Devs equal Degens, or
- the 8-minute timer runs out: the coin died.
Lobbies have 5 to 10 players: one Dev below 8 players, two from 8 up. Your role appears when the round starts; Devs also see who their partner is. The timer pauses during Spaces.
Most of the lobby
Playing as a Degen
You get 7 tasks spread around Rug HQ. Arrows at the edge of your screen and the map point the way. Each task is a quick minigame, and each one pumps the coin:
- Shill Tweet
- Add Liquidity
- Cook a Meme
- Snipe the Snipers
- Answer KOL DMs
The coin graduates once Degens finish about 85% of all their tasks, or more if the Dev keeps dumping the chart.
- Found a body?
- Report it to start a Space.
- Emergency button
- 1 per player per round, at the Group Chat table.
- Explorer terminal
- Shows every pump and dump with the room and time, but not who. It runs 5s behind.
- Sabotage
- Fix FUD at the Trading Floor and RPC Down in the Server Room.
- Drained?
- You become a ghost: walk through walls, chat with other ghosts, and keep doing tasks. They still pump the coin.
One or two per lobby
Playing as the Dev
Blend in. Walk to consoles like everyone else, fake your tasks, and wreck the coin when nobody is watching.
- Skim the LP
- Stand at a console for 3s: the chart dumps $2.5k and the rug meter fills by one. Every 12s (30s with two Devs).
- Drain
- Take out a Degen in range; they leave a drained wallet behind. Your first drain unlocks 10s into the round, then every few seconds depending on lobby size (below).
- Bridges
- Dev-only shortcuts linking far-apart rooms.
- Sabotage
- Every 45s: FUD bleeds $350 a second until fixed; RPC Down cuts the Degens' vision and hearing.
- Pull the rug
- Once the meter hits 5, channel for 8s at the LP Vault. Everyone hears the alarm. A living Degen stepping into the vault stops it and knocks 2 off the meter.
The drain cooldown scales with how many drains the Devs need, so the Dev has a fair shot in every lobby size:
| Players | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | 10 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Devs | 1 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 2 | 2 |
| Drain every | 25s | 19s | 15s | 75s | 75s | 63s |
Meetings
Spaces
A Space starts when someone reports a body or presses the emergency button. Everyone is pulled back to the Group Chat table.
- 1Discuss for 45s: where were you, who did you see?
- 2Vote for 30s. Pick a player or skip.
- 3The top pick is ejected and their role is revealed, but only with more votes than any other pick and more than the skips. Otherwise nobody goes.
Ghosts listen in and chat among themselves, but can't vote or talk to the living.

Voice chat is free and peer-to-peer. In the lobby, everyone hears everyone. In a Space, the living talk and ghosts listen. During the round it's proximity voice: you hear players near you, walls muffle them, and the living never hear ghosts. Your mic only streams to players allowed to hear you, and you can mute anyone.
Points
Clout
You earn Clout from every finished match in lobbies of 5 or more players:
| Degen | Dev | |
|---|---|---|
| Win | 25 | 40 |
| Loss | 5 | 5 |
| Each task done | +2 | — |
| Each vote that ejects a Dev | +10 | — |
| Each drain | — | +8 |
| Each skim | — | +3 |
- Per match
- Capped at 100 Clout.
- Ranked matches
- Pay 1.5× Clout.
- Small lobbies
- Under 5 players, the match is still recorded but earns no Clout.
- Practice
- Games against bots never count.
- Guests
- Earn Clout on their profile and keep it all when they connect a wallet.
Rankings
Leaderboard
The leaderboard has two boards, both ranked by Clout:
- This week
- Resets every Monday at 00:00 UTC.
- All time
- Everything you've ever earned.
- Who's listed
- Wallet players only. Connect a wallet to appear; your guest Clout comes with you.
Every week
Weekly prizes
Each week's prize pool, in SOL, goes to the top 10 players by ranked Clout: Clout earned in the ranked queue that week. To qualify you need a wallet holding at least 100,000 $RUG. Casual and private lobbies don't count toward prizes, so nobody can farm the pool with alt accounts.

- 1The week ends Monday at 00:00 UTC.
- 2Every candidate's $RUG is re-checked on-chain. Anyone who dropped below 100,000 is skipped and the next player moves up.
- 3Prizes are sent from the public prize wallet, so every payout can be checked on-chain.
The leaderboard shows who's currently in line, based on each player's last known balance.
The token
$RUG
$RUG is optional: the game is free. Holding or burning it unlocks extras:
- Ranked queue
- Hold 100,000 $RUG to play ranked (1.5× Clout).
- Weekly prizes
- Hold 100,000 $RUG to qualify.
- Cosmetics
- Burn it in the shop for skins, hats, faces and pets.
7mx6hzTwKzMzTkHL1qii5rMH5ZWwM8YGTu5zcNbtzGkrExplorer $RUG hasn't launched yet. Right now the game runs on a Solana devnet test token, so ranked, the shop and prizes can be tried with test tokens that have no value. Set your wallet to devnet to use them.
The coin you pump in a round is part of the game: its chart and market cap exist only inside the match, not on-chain. Find the Dev never takes bets or entry fees. Clout can't be bought, prizes go to the best players, and cosmetics don't change gameplay.
For holders
Ranked queue
- Who
- Wallet players holding 100,000+ $RUG. The Ranked queue button is on the Play page.
- Checked when you join
- Your holdings are read on-chain, at most 10 minutes old.
- Matchmaking
- Ranked players are only matched with other ranked players.
- Rewards
- 1.5× Clout, and it's the only Clout that counts for weekly prizes.
Cosmetics
Shop & burns
The shop sells 6 skins, 12 hats, 4 faces and 3 pets, from 20,000 to 690,000 $RUG. You wear one item per slot, and skins keep a band in your player color so the lobby can still call you out.
- 1Your wallet signs a burn of exactly the item's price. The $RUG is destroyed, not paid to anyone.
- 2The game reads that transaction on-chain: the right token, from your wallet, enough of it, and it succeeded.
- 3The item unlocks and you're wearing it. Each burn can only be redeemed once.
Everything else
Practice & fair play
- Practice
- Play a round against 5 bots as a Degen or the Dev. Starts instantly, never counts for Clout.
- Spectating
- If the host allows it, streamers can watch the whole map with roles visible, 30s behind the live game. Players see how many people are watching.
- No wallhacks
- The server only sends your browser the players and bodies you could actually see, and never anyone else's role.
- Chat
- Slurs and hate speech are filtered from names and chat. Hosts can remove players between rounds.
- Wallet safety
- Signing in is a signature, never a transaction. Find the Dev will never ask for your seed phrase.
Questions
FAQ
Do I need a wallet to play?+
No. Anyone can play free as a guest. A wallet puts you on the leaderboard and unlocks ranked, prizes and the shop.
Is this gambling?+
No. There are no bets, entry fees or random payouts. Prizes go to the players with the most ranked Clout, and cosmetics are bought by burning tokens.
Why devnet?+
$RUG hasn't launched. Until it does, everything token-related runs on a test token on Solana devnet.
Can I play on my phone?+
Yes. Touch controls are built in; sideways works best.
What if I disconnect?+
You have 20 seconds to reconnect mid-round. After that you're out for the rest of the round.
Do cosmetics give an advantage?+
No. They change how you look, never what you can do.
